Baptism

Please take a few moments to prayerfully fill out the following form so we can add you to our list of people to contact about the next baptism Sunday.

Baptism itself does not make us a believer in Christ, but rather is a way of saying to the world that our relationship with Jesus, and our faith in Him, has already begun. Baptism symbolizes that our old self is gone (going under the water) and our new self has come (coming up out of the water) and that we have been made alive in Christ.

If so, please describe your conversion to Christ. If not, or if you're unaware, please indicate, and we will contact you to discuss.

The fact that a holy God has provided a way for sinners like you and me to be reconciled to him is amazing. There is nothing we have done or could have done to deserve his forgiveness for our sins. So whether you were saved at a young age and went to church most of your life or whether you weren’t saved until much later in life, you have an amazing gift. You should be telling others about God’s gift of salvation and how he has worked in your life and sharing that gift as God has instructed us to do.

Because your testimony will be published instead of spoken, we ask that you limit what you write to 275 words (just short of half a page). A lot can be said in this amount of words, and the limit will help you focus on the most important aspects of your testimony.

Testimonies should state how you were saved. You should tell people how you came to realize you were a sinner, how you came to understand that Jesus died for your sins, and why you decided to put your faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. A good testimony will show how God has been at work in your heart and in your life. A testimony is not simply your life story. It needs to clearly point others to God. Therefore, it must be Christ-centered and gospel-centered. Choose to include biographical details that highlight the basic gospel truths taught in the Bible.

Try to use at least one passage of Scripture in your testimony. It should relate to what you write.
